Cruisen By the Bay — A Polson Phenomenon
Photos & Story by Jerry Brenner
Polson, Mont. - A dull roar turned to a thundering rumble as 320 gleaming rides powered by a combined 90,000 horsepower rolled into town August 11 - 12, 2006 as the Valley Cruisers of Mission Valley staged their annual Cruisen By the Bay.
Action opened on Friday with a performance by the Bop-a-Dips who had spectators bouncing to their brand of nostalgic rock & roll.

Saturday downtown Polson was filled to the brim with sensational rides from far and wide. Participants found there was as much (or little) to do as they could possibly desire. Tons of vendors, foods & crafts, a poker walk and, perchance, an interaction with Dennis Gage, host of the popular My Classic Car television show. Many also had the opportunity to meet the legendary master craftsman, Mr. Candy Apple Red, Joe Bailon.

Saturday evening brought out the rock & roll duo Jan & Dean who belted out many of their hits including the all time favorite “Surfin’ Safari.”
