Drifters’ ‘Harvest Run’ Rocks Redmond Photos & Story by Jim Larson Redmond, Oreg. — Friday night, August 15, 2008 and the Harvest Run opened with DJ Duke Edwards playing oldies music and entertaining young and old with a variety of games. The Chicken Barbecue drew a great turnout with more than 300 dinners served. A mini- “Cruz” through downtown Redmond finished off the Friday night activities. By 7:30 a.m. Saturday cars had begun showing up for the day’s activities which included a poker walk, assorted Duke Edwards music, games, raffles, a 50/50 drawing, a t-shirt quilt raffle featuring a made by Redmond resident Jo Gordon. The day continued with the temperature hitting 106 degrees and the car participants “out in it” judging the classic cars. The trophy presentation at 3:30 p.m. brought the 15th Harvest Run to a close. Proceeds from the show go to three local charities, Hospice, Sparrow Club and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Join us for the festivities, August 14-15, 2009. Remember...
