Portland Roadster Show... 51 & Having Fun!
Story by David Marin, Photos by Bob Rosenberry & David Marin
Portland — Let’s open by clarifying, we in no way consider 51 years to be old. In fact, current perspective, which has me staring 60 straight in the eye, sees 51 as being quite young. The fact remains, the Multnomah Hot Rod Council’s Portland Roadster Show is the grandaddy of hot rod and custom car shows in the Pacific Northwest.

The 2007 event took place March 2-4, and for the 17th consecutive year was staged at the beautiful Oregon Convention Center.

The many highlights of the event traditionally includes the “High School Challenge” which brings together numerous local high schools who hold their own mini car shows. Winners of these events are invited to attend and participate in the PRS.
The underlying focus of the Portland Roadster Show is family… hot rodding is a family hobby/sport.

The theme for the 2007 PRS was “51 and Having Fun”… and from the looks on the faces of the youngsters and oldsters that ogled up and down the aisles of outstanding old (and not so old) iron, if fun was the goal then the goal was achieved.

The 2008 PRS is slated for Feb. 29 - March 2… get in on the fun and be there!
