There was something of a hubbub over my comment last issue regarding the average age of individuals that attended the Washington State Hot Rod Hall of Fame banquet last April. Seems that a few individuals took exception to my observation that I saw no more than one youngster taking part in the festivities. If, in my ignorance, I overlooked a teenager or two, my apologies. I would, however, stand by my assessment that the average age attending was over 40 — that’s probably conservative. Read on

Salem, Oreg. — Thousands of spectators beat the winter chill by attending a sizzling 2009 Salem Roadster Show, February 7-8, at the Oregon State Fairgrounds. The show featured over 110 cars, trucks and motorcycles, and, again, the entries were all new so spectators had a totally new selection of the West Coast’s best. Vehicles came from British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, California and Idaho. From Muscle Cars to Hot Rods to Customs to Woodies to you name it - it was all there in it’s finest. Read on

Right when the season is winding down, and all the gearheads are beginning to dread the long, dark winter with (almost) no car stuff, except what’s self generated. Drizzle Doesn’t Dampen Cruise Reunion Spirit

On April 25, 2009, we attended the “50’s Cruise Reunion” at Camp Rilea just outside of Warrenton, Oregon. The weather turned out to be “interesting”. It was rather cool with an off and on brisk breeeze and about noon we had the first of several showers. But, being our first show of the season, it didn’t seem all that bad. Read on
